Strong and weak points displayed in their raw form: The rear forward-reverse drive was strong and dependable. Made from a drive motor and axle of a child's ride-on car made by Tyco, motion was never a problem. Turning, on the other hand, was a massive weakest link. The front wheels were controlled by a 'rack and pinion' method which meant far too many weak parts and most importantly, a poor choice of motor. The first motor for turning was a low torque, low power electric motor which turned the wheels as long as they weren't sitting on something hard. (not a good thing)... The motor that worked was a Black and Decker power drill motor and it worked so well, it tore out the fragile aluminum parts and had to be rebuilt again. Once completed it turned quite well.
